Final Wetlands Update (#4) + Lessons Learned!

Update:

The wetlands committee finally gave us the approval for our plan!

This is the plan that was approved by the Wetlands Committee

What We Learned for Next Time:

  • There are general guidelines that the Wetlands Consultant will provide for the specific property. While it's not an exhaustive list, we know that any future property would have similar requirements. So we could proactively make sure we've tackled the list before the initial Wetlands Permit submission.

  • We could also be proactive and add mitigation as well as septic approval from Health Department to the plans before going to the committee the first time. This could potentially allow us to get away with 1 meeting instead of 2.

This is a sample of the list we were provided before the 1st meeting.

Next Up:

Now that we have approval for the footprint of the house, we can begin construction drawings officially. We'll be meeting with our architects, designers, brokers and advisors to put together the best possible plan. As long as we keep to the footprint the Wetlands Committee approved, we can adjust however we need to.
