Diving into Design

Another thing, now that the permit application is in, is it’s time to do a deep dive into the plan. We like do a thorough plan review for any tweaks to the layout from the architect as well as begin getting into the details with our designer.

We begin working with our designer at this stage to finalize all fixtures, so that way by the time the permit comes back, we're ready to place our orders.

For this house, we are playing around with the idea of natural wood tones and gold accent pieces. We definitely feel like this is probably the direction that the market is going and a nice change of pace from the all white we find in kitchens and baths.

Check out the two options below for some ideas:

One is for the primary bath. You can see if you compare the two vanities, that the one with wood tones softens the white of the tub.

Also, given the detail we place on mold prevention, we like to run tile from the floor to the ceiling around the showed area.

The second is the kitchen with that natural wood feeling along with some gold and pieces. Personally, we like that this feels softer than the all white or black kitchen. And perhaps more timeless? But I guess, only time will tell!
